Top 10 Reasons to Register and Vote

A national League of Women Voters study revealed a major reason. Many don't see that voting directly effects their everyday lives. But as the LWVUS poster says, "Your job. Your taxes. Your Social Security. Your children's education. It's about you and your family."

So here are ours:

1. It's your money. The county commissioners, governor, state treasurer, legislators, president and members of Congress you vote for will decide how much of our wealth to invest in public services and how to fairly share the tax burden.

PENNSYLVANIA AFL-CIO ENDORSEMENTS FOR NOV. 7^TH GENERAL ELECTION

Harrisburg, PA: Pennsylvania AFL-CIO President William George today announced endorsements for United States Congress and for the Pennsylvania General Assembly and reaffirmed earlier endorsements of Governor Edward Rendell and Lieutenant Governor Catherine Baker Knoll for re-election and State Treasurer Bob Casey, Jr. for the United States Senate.

The Pennsylvania AFL-CIO is the largest labor organization in the State, representing 900,000 workers. Endorsements are made by a 2/3 vote of the members of the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO's Executive Council representing unions affiliated with the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO.
