Advance Notice Dependent Audit
 Posted: Thursday, April 02, 2009

In the near future PSEG will begin an audit of dependent eligibility for medical and dental benefits.

As part of that audit you will be required to submit documentation (marriage certificate, birth certificate, and other legal papers) demonstrating that the individuals you have enrolled in your coverage are eligible dependents under the terms of the PSEG plans.

The cost to PSEG and all employees for our health benefits is determined by the claims submitted on behalf of enrolled employees and their dependents.  It is unfair to plan participants for ineligible individuals to incur and be reimbursed for medical or dental expenses which in turn affect the premiums paid by all plan participants.

This is advance notice of the coming audit.  You will receive formal written notice and more detailed information within the next several weeks.

Now is the time to: (1) gather the documentation you will need, and (2) delete from your coverage any individual who does not meet the requirements for an eligible dependent under our coverage. Call Benefits Express 1-800-571-0400 and speak with a representative.
